Many students don't succeed in mathematics because the subject intimidates them, and they don't enjoy mathematics. Helping students see the beauty in math is a challenging task, but a passionate and excited teacher can help inspire the same passion and excitement in the students. These lesson plans provide a look at some very interesting numbers and puzzles that may just inspire a bit of curiosity in bored students. Show your students the crazy number 142857, or talk to them about the Fibonacci number sequence which shows up over and over in nature, and see if they don't perk up a little more interest in mathematics.
